Family-Friendly Options for Warm-Weather Spring Breaks

If you're planning to take a family vacation during school holidays next year, you should start planning now. The entire month of March, especially the second and third weeks, is prime time for Spring Breakers, and the most popular resorts will be sold out by late January or early February.

If you are hoping to vacation at a tropical resort in March, you should start planning now in order to lock in the best rate at the resort you choose. Prices will rise as availability tightens.

Depending on the atmosphere you are looking for, some destinations may be more appealing than others. College students and the party-hardy crowd flock to Cancun, Jamaica, Acapulco and the Bahamas for spring break. There you'll find the normally active nightlife spilling over into the day.

Parents hoping to enjoy a relaxing vacation with their children - and others looking for peace and solitude - might want to try Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Tulum (in Mexico's Yucatan), Puerto Vallarta (on Mexico's west coast), or Hawaii. Also, with the exception of Jamaica, most of the Caribbean islands should be relatively tame.

To help you get started, VacationsToGo.com has come up with a list of great deals for budget, moderate and luxury hotels that are still available for March. Some of these are starting to show limited availability, so book as quickly as possible. As always, the prices are based on double occupancy, do not include airfare, and are subject to availability.
