Resort Overview: Franklyn D. Resort is Jamaica's first all-suite, all-inclusive resort for families that allows guests to vacation in a private setting similar to that of an elegant Jamaican home. Located in Runaway Bay, these Seaside Suites are set among lush foliage on the Caribbean Sea. This all-inclusive holiday features all meals, open bar, wine with lunch and dinner, entertainment, sports facilities, adult activities, and a Mini Club for children. Children under 16 years play, stay and eat for free. The most unique aspect of this resort is its Vacation Nanny concept where each family gets their own personal nanny to attend to their every need. Your Vacation Nanny will baby-sit and be a companion to your children, enabling parents to capture the flavor of being in a Jamaican home while on holiday. The resort's fully supervised mini-club features a range of activities for children, while teens adults are free to indulge in a variety of watersports and other sporting activities offered at the resort.
Activities: The pool area features a a separate shallow wading pool for toddlers and small children as well as a separate "slide" pool which is quite a hit with the youngsters. Vacation Nannies will keep a close watch on the little ones so the parents can also relax while the kids splash and safely have fun. Kids can also enjoy sports facilities offered by FDR. There are soccer lessons and snorkeling lessons, glass-bottom boat rides and kayaks, tennis and basketball and bicycle rides.
Other activities include: Computers, Super Nintendo 64, fishing, TV room, tie and dye lessons, Aternoon & Night Beach games, Shell collecting, Soccer with instruction,Art and Craft room with lessons, Photography lessons, Snorkeling lessons, Beach picnics, Cooking and napkin-folding classes and a Children's playground.
Kids' Programs: The Kiddie's Centre is the hub of activity for children of different ages and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The children’s program is as varied and enjoyable as the junior guests themselves. The real youngsters have their own playground, arts and crafts centre, paddling pool and activity program like shell hunts along the beach and tye dye classes.
Teen's Programs: Teenagers will enjoy learning many of our sports, like windsurfing, snorkeling and tennis. At FDR they will also meet new friends from different places, mingle with other teens, play video games, enjoy our Cyber Cafe, and all the "cool stuff" at our resort. Our Teens Program offers teens many choices including, The Teen Scuba Diving Adventure -- a really popular choice. In addition, the trained Coordinators organize many "teen activities". Teens and preteens will also enjoy their sports facilities including, basketball, tennis, pool/beach volleyball, snorkeling and they can also play video games or chat in their cyber cafe, There are also reggae dance classes, board games, organized "rap sessions".
Other activities for teens include: Cyber Cafe with Computer Classes, Internet surfing, Games room, Basketball tournament, pool Olympics & other sports. Glass-bottom boat ride, Snorkeling trips, Kayak races, Bike tours, Disco, Volleyball, Art and Craft lessons, Staff and guest show, Reggae dance classes, Tie and dye, Crab races and Ocho Rios trips.
