Family-Friendly Waikoloa Beach Marriott Cuts Its Leisure Rate to $185
From now until June 15, the award-winning Waikoloa Beach Marriott on the prestigious Kohala Coast of the Big Island has cut its Marriott Leisure Rate to $185. That price, which reflects a 43% saving off published retail rates, covers a garden-view room for two and allows guests to earn Marriott reward points.
It also allows guests who stay five nights to take advantage of the "Hot Lava, Cool Resort" program, which provides a free automobile pass to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The pass is good for a carload of passengers for seven days unlimited entry to the park, starting on the hotel check-in date.
Volcanoes National Park, where Kilauea has been spewing fiery rivers of lava for almost two decades, is the Big Island's biggest attraction. The molten lava is unstoppable in its march seaward., burying miles of road, a visitor center and a campground, and creating more than 540 acres of new coastline. Thousands of archaeological features, including temple sites, petroglyphs and village complexes lie entombed beneath 80 feet of basalt. And each minute another 130,000 gallons of molten rock gush from the volcano's flank.
But lava isn't the only attraction on the Big Island. The deluxe, beachfront Waikoloa Beach Marriott, named a winner in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards, provides an affordable and wonderful vacation experience. Its open-air restaurant serves Pacific Rim cuisine in a setting of flowers, waterfalls and koi ponds, with beautiful sunset views of the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by 17 acres of palm trees, flowering gardens and lava fields, the resort has one of the Big Island's best beaches. Tennis courts, 36 holes of championship golf, all kinds of water sports, and the Hawaiian Rainforest Salon & Spa complete the picture of a paradise.
