FDR Resorts Offer Single Parent Special

FDR Resorts, owners and operators of Jamaica's Franklyn D. Resort & Spa and the FDR Pebbles Resort, are once again offering their annual Single Parent Vacation Special in 2008. This offer waives the single supplement charge for vacations between April 11 and December 18, 2008.

The Franklyn D. Resort & Spa and FDR Pebbles are perfectly suited for single parent families. Both all-inclusive resorts provide a Vacation Nanny for families vacationing at the properties, allowing single parents to take a well-deserved break.

"Over the years, we've recognized the financial burden that single parents face and our waiving of our single supplement plus the Vacation Nanny assigned to each family at both resorts offers an ideal combination for single parents who want to vacation without the hassles this summer," states the Company's Director of Sales, Mr. Freddie DePass.

Franklyn D. Resort & Spa, FDR Resorts' all-inclusive flagship property, opened in April, 1990 to offer families a home away from home with its spacious all-suites accommodations and a Vacation Nanny for each family. There are no hotel "rooms" at the Franklyn D. Resort & Spa. Each of the 77 air-conditioned one, two and three bedroom suites are the size of condominium accommodations. Each of the suites also offers new iPod Docking Stations and DVD players.

Certainly the most unique aspect of this resort is its Vacation Nanny concept. As part of this program, each family is appointed a dedicated staff member who attends to their needs during the entire duration of their stay. Vacation Nannies assist their assigned family from 9 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. every day, by playing with the children, tidying up their suite, taking the kids to lunch, and helping the parents as needed. The Franklyn D. Resort also offers a fully supervised mini-club featuring a wide range of activities for the children, including a children's disco, an outdoor arts and crafts center and a mini arcade. The resort has also just added a Heely track and an infant/toddler waterplay feature. The resort's large waterslide is also a favorite with children. Specially designed programs exist for school-age children, infants and toddlers, and activities for 'tweens and teens are also available. As the kids engage in their favorite activities, adults are free to participate in a variety of watersports and other activities offered at the resort. WiFi is available at the property free of charge. Parents can also enjoy the onsite oceanfront spa facilities. Golf is available nearby for an additional fee.

The Pebbles Resort offers families the opportunity to experience an all-inclusive vacation Jamaica-style. While well-suited for families with children of all ages, Pebbles' special focus is on families with pre-teens and teens. Here, the whole family can participate in a wide range of activities including hiking, scuba, snorkeling, cycling trips on all-terrain bicycles, fishing, map reading, and educational field trips to historic Falmouth. Jamaican music plays throughout the property and a variety of Jamaican dishes are served at mealtimes. Guests can enjoy learning to play cricket and soccer, discovering how to cook Jamaican food, participating in donkey rides, and much more. An air-conditioned fitness center provides parents and teens with the opportunity to stay in shape on their vacation. Meals are available from four restaurants, including an Italian restaurant and the Overproof Jamaican restaurant. A Vacation Nanny is assigned to families with small children and complimentary WiFi is available at the property. Accommodations are in 96 cedarwood oceanfront and oceanview junior suites.
