New York City Passenger Ship Terminal Introduces Year-Round Weekly Cruises To The Bahamas & Florida
City to Become Permanent Home Port to Norwegian Cruise Lines' Largest Ship
NEW YORK, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York City Passenger Ship Terminal, managed and operated by P&O Ports North America, Inc., and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced today the inauguration of weekly cruises to the Bahamas and Florida from the terminal
facility. Departing from New York City's world class facility, cruise passengers will now be able to sail to the Bahamas and Florida all year-round on one of the most prestigious cruise lines.
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) will be the first cruise line offering this unprecedented service from the New York City Passenger Ship Terminal by debuting its newest, fastest and largest ship, The Norwegian Dawn. New York City will be its permanent year-round homeport -- a first for the cruise
industry and for the City.
The Norwegian Dawn is NCL's largest ship and accommodates 2,240 guests and 1,100 crew. It offers a plethora of amenities that passengers will enjoy including first class restaurants, spacious staterooms and suites, original artwork, fitness centers and spa, a Las Vegas-style casino and an Internet cafe.
Responding to the tremendous growth of the 'drive to' cruising market, the New York City Passenger Ship Terminal enthusiastically embraced the concept of year-round cruising.
