Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board Tells Visitors to Get Lost

TURKS AND CAICOS, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Turks and Caicos Islands Tourism Board has unveiled a new advertising campaign for 2003-2004 with an unusual message to its visitors: "Get Lost." This is no April Fools though; the first look at the campaign will appear in publications in Canada, the US and the UK later this month.

The campaign devised by US-based VS Brooks Creative Agency with the Turks and Caicos Tourism Board is designed to illustrate the choice and wealth of activities, islands and experiences that tourists can lose themselves in, during their vacations.

Diana Brooks, TCI Account Supervisor comments, "Our brief was to come up with something that could convey the diversity as well as the tranquility and the beauty of the destination. The campaign will, we hope, encourage people to explore the destination more and discover its uniqueness."

TCI Tourism Board commissioned acclaimed photographer Darrell Jones to photograph the destination. Jackie Mulligan, Communications Manager, adds: "Darrell took some stunning images which will be used as the campaign unfolds through the year, focusing on the spa, diving, family and romantic attributes and overall beauty of our Islands."

The new imagery will be used on turksandcaicostourism.com in the next month and will be timed to coincide with a new on-line booking feature as well as a series of value-added summer specials.

"The ads will include a map with the tagline 'Turks and Caicos -- The everything Islands,' as we want people to be aware that this is a place where you can do nothing but certainly not a place where there is nothing to do," comments John Skippings, Director of Tourism.

The Turks and Caicos islands are renowned for their award-winning beaches, excellent diving and fishing, and array of exclusive and elegant resorts and experiences like sunset cruises, private island getaways, and cave safaris.

There are daily direct flights from Miami, New York, Charlotte and weekly flights direct from Boston, Atlanta, Toronto and London to the Turks and Caicos Islands as well as direct flights from Montego Bay and Nassau. The Official Tourist Board website for the islands is http://www.turksandcaicostourism.com and Tourist Offices are located in the USA (1-800 241 0824), Canada (866 413 8875) and the UK (+44 208 350 1017).
