Marine Science Program comes to OHANA Keauhou Beach Resort this Summer
KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII - Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society and Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort have partnered to offer a series of marine science educational programs this summer in Kona.
Hawaii Ambassadors of the Environment, created by Jean-Michel Cousteau, is an experiential education program housed at the Kona Family YMCA sustainable campsite in Ke'ei. Youth from 8-15 years of age will learn about Hawaii's unique coral, marine life, plants and environment from marine educators and Hawaiian cultural practitioners.
Special 3 day/2 night and 4 day/3 night camp programs from $250 will be offered to guests of OHANA Keauhou Beach Resort whose children sign up to attend camp programs during the following dates: June 15-18, 2003; July 13-16, 2003; and July 27-30, 2003. The cost includes transportation for the kids to and from the hotel, food, campsite accommodations and equipment. Space is limited. While their children attend the nearby educational camp, parents can enjoy a Hawaiian vacation at OHANA Keauhou Beach Resort. As part of the Hawaii Ambassadors of the Environment program, the hotel is offering an Ocean Adventure Rate of $119 per night, plus taxes, to guests whose children are attending the camp. This includes single or double occupancy in an ocean view room with waived local calls and parking fees.
