Spring Offer To London

Includes London Hotel Offer for $1 Per Night, Flexible Change Policy on Special Airfares

NEW YORK, April 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- British Airways today is launching a spring promotion to boost international travel to the UK with roundtrip airfares starting at $298 to London from JFK or Newark plus hotel rooms in central London starting at just $1 per night.

The airfares, available from all 23 British Airways gateways in North America, are available for sale April 9 through midnight, (EDT), Wed., April 16, 2003, and are valid for travel April 16 through June 18, 2003.

In conjunction with the special airfares, centrally-based two to four star London hotel accommodation is available on a first come-first serve basis for only $1 per night per person for a maximum of two nights (based on double occupancy). Single occupancy also is available at $1 for one night.

"British Airways has taken the lead in promoting travel to the United Kingdom this Spring with this outstanding offer," said Elizabeth Weisser, Vice President Marketing for British Airways North America. "These air fares are up to $100 lower than the sale fares the airline offered during the same period last year. Plus, passengers can stay in a central London hotel from just $1.00 per person per night, making this the best London offer available right now. Our flexible change policy offers reassurance to make travel plans now and our great prices offer unbelievable value."

British Airways' flexible change policy will be in effect for all air tickets sold during this sale. Passengers may change outbound travel dates for travel through Dec. 31, 2003, without penalty. If changed travel dates result in a higher fare, the passenger will be liable for the difference.

Should a new departure result in a lower fare, no refund will be given. Changes must be made at least 72 hours prior to outbound departure and no later than May 31, 2003. No show passengers forfeit the value of their ticket.

The $1 per night hotel accommodation offer is sold on an availability basis only and must be booked at the same time when booking airfares. The outbound travel period for hotels is through June 18, 2003, with all travel to be completed by June 30, 2003. Additional nights will be charged at higher rates.

Round-trip fares from other USA gateways to London are $318 from Philadelphia and Boston, $358 from Baltimore and Washington, D.C., $418 from Miami and Chicago, and $438 from Dallas/Fort Worth, and Los Angeles.

Round-trip fares to London from British Airways' three Canadian gateways are (in Canadian dollars) $498 from Toronto, $518 from Montreal and $718 from Vancouver.

An additional $10 airfare discount is available when customers log in and book on-line at ba.com. An upgrade to the World Traveller Plus cabin also is available for an additional $200 (per sector from East Coast cities - $250 per sector from West Coast cities) on most flights between USA airports and London Heathrow Airport. The World Traveller Plus cabin features 38 inch pitch seats in a separate cabin aboard longhaul B747 and B777 aircraft.

World Traveller Plus upgrades from Canadian gateways are available at CA $300 per sector from Toronto or Montreal and CA$350 from Vancouver each way.

Economy seat sale fares are based on mid-week travel, Monday through Wednesday; weekend travel, Thursday through Sunday, requires a $25 surcharge in each direction ($35 in Canada). Tickets must be purchased seven days in advance of departure. Minimum stay is one Saturday night and maximum stay is nine months. Other significant restrictions apply.

Fares are subject to availability and do not include government fees and taxes of approximately $94 plus the $2.50 Sept. 11th Security Fee per person when departing the USA. For USA originating passengers upgrading to World Traveller Plus, the government fees and taxes are approximately $123 plus the $2.50 Sept. 11th Security Fee.
