Wyndham Scores a Medal from Child Magazine; Family Suites, Fun Foods and Great Value Make Wyndham a Top Hotel Chain for Kids and Adults

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' long-standing dedication to families, and especially kids, has been rewarded by Child magazine, who recognized Wyndham in its first-ever "10 Best Hotel Chains for Families" survey, appearing in the magazine's May issue.

Ranked third on the magazine's list, Wyndham was commended not only for providing options that cater to children, but also for recognizing that families use vacations as a valued opportunity to spend time together. Child recognized the following Wyndham programs and initiatives that emphasize this theme:

-- Wyndham Family Retreat(R) Program, in which participating properties offer vacation activities that parents and children can enjoy together. Featured activities include:

-- "Cooking with the Chef," where kids prepare a special meal for their parents under the guidance of the hotel chef

-- "Campfire Celebration," featuring storytelling emphasizing local culture, as well as sampling of local cuisine, group games and noteworthy traditions

-- "Dive-In Movies," providing movies and munchies served poolside, with floating tubes replacing cars

-- Wyndham 50/50 Weekend Escape, which accommodates families of all sizes by giving parents a choice of either 50 percent off the cost of their second night stay or 50 percent off the cost of a second room

-- Wyndham Orlando's exclusive family-friendly suites, which include brightly-colored bunk beds, children's art tables and chair sets and games

-- Wyndham Restaurants, many of which offer a wide variety of meal choices, including creative and nutritious meals specifically geared for younger palates the need for families to relax in a setting that is appealing to everyone, from young children to grandparents," said Fred J. Kleisner, chairman and chief executive officer of Wyndham International. "As one of the first hotels to establish family programming, Wyndham has created a family-friendly environment, and we are very pleased to be recognized by Child magazine. Wyndham will continue to provide innovative activities and offerings, in part through the introduction of our new Nickelodeon SpongeBob SquarePants(TM) Splash Party initiative launching at a number of our resorts this summer."

Child magazine's survey was open to hotel chains that offer at least ten locations in the U.S., and have on-site restaurants that welcome children at all properties. All 45 chains that initially qualified were asked to complete a comprehensive survey developed by Child, which included information on everything from children's programming to window locks and childproofing kits. The survey results were then examined and ranked by an advisory board of travel professionals.
