BEACHES RESORTS TAKES THE FIELD WITH SEHORN'S CORNER -- SINGLE PARENT FUN THIS MOTHER'S DAY AT BEACHES BOSCOBEL
Beaches Resorts has signed a new teammate to further family fun. This Mother's Day, St. Louis Rams' Jason Sehorn will be trading in football pads for swim trunks as his foundation, Sehorn's Corner, hosts Single Parent Family Fun at Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club. As part of the team effort to reach out to single parent families, ten single parent families will spend a complimentary Mother's Day weekend at the all-inclusive family resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
The event kicks off on Thursday, May 6 when families board flights courtesy of Air Jamaica, the World's Best Airline to the Caribbean, for a four-day extravaganza with Jason Sehorn's family and other sports and entertainment personalities. Activities include Beach Olympics, Caribbean Carnival, Mother's Day Brunch and other island events. Once returning home, each family will receive an Xbox® video game system and a set of the hottest new Xbox games, courtesy of Microsoft Xbox.
"As a product of a single parent family, I understand the challenges many single parents face first-hand," says Jason Sehorn. "The opportunity to partner with Beaches Resorts for Mother's Day 2004 certainly puts a smile on our Sehorn's Corner families, not to mention the memories that will last a lifetime."
Keeping in mind the difficulties his own mother dealt with as a single mother, Jason established Sehorn's Corner in 1999 to benefit underprivileged single parent families. While playing for the New York Giants, Sehorn's efforts were focused in Newark and expanded to St. Louis after signing with the Rams. This year's Mother's Day weekend will include families from Newark, St. Louis, Atlanta and other cities.
In 2003, Beaches Single Parent Fun Months (SPF Months), were established to provide single parents with single supplement free months all of May and August 15-October 31 at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa, Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, Beaches Sandy Bay and Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club.
Beaches Resorts also provide activities for single parents throughout the year, helping families feel even more at home and comfortable meeting other single parents and their children. The resorts host Tuesday Night "Single Parent Welcome Receptions," "Single Parent Socials" and "Kids Movie Nights," where children and their parents can meet.
In addition, ultra-inclusive features like The GameWaves Interactive Zone, supervised KIDS KAMP program, infant care, land and water sports activities, like scuba diving with professional instruction, golf and tennis lessons and special teen activities provide lots of fun for the whole family.
