More Fun For Kids This Summer at Waikiki's Outrigger Reef on the Beach
The Cowabunga Kids Club, located at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach has added off site excursions to its activities this summer. Now through August 20, 2004, kids who sign up for the Cowabunga Kids Club will enjoy visits to some of Oahu's most popular kid-friendly attractions Monday through Friday in addition to the daily fun-filled activities on site.
Monday afternoons will find the kids delving into the science of gravity at the Bishop Museum's "Scream" exhibit. On Tuesday mornings, the beauty of coral will be explored at the Lu Coral Museum, and keiki will have the opportunity to make a gemstone bracelet or anklet for themselves or to take home as a gift for a friend. The Waikiki Aquarium is Wednesday afternoon's stop. Here kids will come up close and personal with hermit crabs, starfish and sea cucumbers at the Edge of the Reef Exhibit. Thursday mornings are being set aside for a visit to the Honolulu Zoo, home to Hawaii's largest collection of animals. The week's excursions wind up on Friday afternoons at Sea Life Park, home to an array of marine life, including dolphins, sea lions, stingrays, sea turtles, sharks and much, much more.
While at the hotel, kids in the Cowabunga Kids Club are kept busy with entertaining activities, like crab catching, introductory surf lessons, lei making, hula dancing, kite flying and bamboo fishing.
The Cowabunga Kids Club is open to all children ages 5 to 13. Preference is given to guests staying at Outrigger and OHANA hotels, but the program is also available to visitors staying at other Waikiki hotels. The program is offered daily from 8:30 am to 4:00 p.m. and is available in both half day ($35 per child) and full day ($55 per child) programs. Included in the price are a souvenir Cowabunga Kids Club T-shirt, lunch and or snacks, entry fees to all excursions and transportation.
