Remember the Beaches of Southern California When Making Family Vacation Plans

The warm days of summer are here and the kids are ready to take advantage of their long awaited break from school. Imagine a place where kids have their own backyard playground, where parents can relax, and the whole family can savor a multitude of unforgettable memories.

The Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort in Oxnard, California is a great setting for those snapshot memories of a tropical beachside vacation. Nestled along California's Central Coast, the Embassy Suites is the only all-suite resort to sit directly on the golden beaches of Southern California.

A true resort in every sense of the word, Embassy Suites creates an ambience of far away destinations, yet is accessible by car. Without having to endure the expense that goes along with a beach getaway, families can enjoy all the amenities of a seaside resort without the cost of airfare and long drive time, especially attractive with the current high cost of gasoline.

Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort is centrally located with easy access from Los Angeles, central California and areas that point towards the deserts and inland valleys. Once on property, families will find a resort full of amenities. The beach is a main highlight for families offering all day fun in the sun and adventurous activities such as surfing and kayaking. Both surfboard and kayak rentals as well as lessons are available directly from the resort.

If biking is your thing, your familiy is in for a treat. Parents and kids can select a bike of their choice available through Wheel Fun Rentals located on site. Families can bike along the beachfront promenade on a surrey bike or go single on a quad sport, slingshot or chopper. All types of options are offered for a half-day or full day of fun.

Kids can swim until their hearts content in the heated, free form swimming pool located on property adjacent to two large whirlpools allowing for relaxation time under a summer's sky. Embassy Suites is also equipped with two lighted tennis courts for more added family recreation.

Located next door to the resort is Channel Islands Harbor, which offers boating, fishing, dining, and recreational activities including island excursions to Channel Islands National Park. The popular Ventura County Maritime Museum, which chronicles the area's maritime history, is also a favorite visitor stop with hands-on activities and changing exhibits.

To keep the younger set busy while parents soak up the sun, or simply relax, the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort created its "Beach Buddies Program," just for kids. Both half-day and evening children's programs are offered for ages 5 to 12. Activities are varied and include such fun choices as sand castle building, kite flying, seashell hunts, arts & crafts and special guests. Program fees vary.

For longer stays, visitors can enjoy Oxnard's area attractions including historic Heritage Square in downtown Oxnard, and the Gull Wings Children's Museum where kids imaginations come to life. Families can also catch a glimpse of professional football players as they practice for their upcoming season. The Dallas Cowboys will hold their training camp in Oxnard July 30-August 20, 2004 at River Ridge Fields. Visitors will be welcome to watch the practice sessions and see live professional football in action.

The Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort is equipped with 248 two-room and three-room suites with a private bedroom and a separate living room with a sleeper sofa for the kids. Complimentary full cooked-to-order breakfast and choice of beverages at the evening manager's reception are offered to guests daily.
