Iberostar Hotels & Resorts Announces Newest Resort on the Riviera Maya

Opening the first week of December 2004 on Playa Paraiso between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the all-inclusive Iberostar Paraiso Mayawill be the highest tier addition to the Iberostar resorts located in the area. With 432 suites and two presidential suites, this five-star resort forms a twin hotel with Iberostar Paraiso Lindo.

The property is a design masterpiece with its towering entrance replication of the Chichen Itza temple. Guests of Iberostar Paraiso Maya will be privy to special services including personalized sit-down check-in with no front desk, luxury in-room amenities, spa treatments available only to Maya guests and a welcome gift.

Iberostar Paraiso Maya joins Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Iberostar Paraiso del Mar and Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in the region. The latter resort just opened in November 2003. In 2005, a new shopping center, spa and fitness center, and P.B. Dye golf course will join Iberostar Paraiso Maya and the Iberostar Playa Paraiso resort complex.

Designed to highlight Mayan culture, the hotel entrance and lobby is a replica of the famous El Castillo Pyramid at Chichen Itza. Design elements throughout the lobby and in the guest rooms are reminiscent of the Mayan culture including a huge chandelier in the form of a snake in the lobby area. The suites, centered around a flower-filled courtyard, are built in thatch-roofed buildings to replicate a Mexican village.

Iberostar Paraiso Maya offers all the luxuries of a big all-inclusive resort. Suites are designed with either a balcony or terrace and come equipped with cable TV, air conditioning and ceiling fans, complimentary mini bar and coffee machines, a DVD player, iron and clock.

Iberostar Paraiso Maya will feature eight pools, including five shared with sister resort Iberostar Paraiso Lindo and three smaller pools exclusively for guests of Iberostar Paraiso Maya. The five shared pools include a lake-style pool, a lazy river, wave pool, children's pool and an activity pool.

Food and beverage outlets include five bars and lounges and five a la carte restaurants, three of them shared with sister resort Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, including Japanese, a Steak House, and Mexican, and two exclusive for guests of Iberostar Paraiso Maya a French Gourmet and a Seafood restaurant. In addition, guests will have 'dine around' access in which they can choose to dine at the a la carte restaurants from any other Iberostar Playa Paraiso resort, a total of 16 restaurants and 17 bars. Iberostar Paraiso Maya also offers an International Buffet restaurant serving breakfast and lunch only, a casual pool-side Grill and Snack Bar for lunch and snacks throughout the day, and 24-hour room service.

P.B. Dye 18-hole golf course will also open in early 2005. The professional golf course will feature tunnel access from the resort, expansive rolling greens and natural cenote hazards. Later in 2005, the golf course will be complemented by a driving range and 9-hole par-three course for families.

In summer 2005, Iberostar Paraiso Maya will open a new shopping center that offers 32 stores, a new Fitness Center and Spa and several dining establishments. In the Fitness Center and Spa, guests will find 5,000 square-feet of space in which to enjoy weight training equipment, cardio machines and free weights, as well as a full-service spa featuring couples massages and four-hand massage.
