Enjoy Fall Foliage & Family Fun During Club Getaway's "Fall Family Weekend" in Connecticut
Families can spend time together in a camp setting as part of Club Getaway's Fall Family Weekend (Oct. 8-10) where in addition to all the sports and activities families have come to know and love at Club Getaway, the will also enjoy a host of traditional fall-time activities -- hayrides, pumpkin carving, apple pie baking, Halloween Costume Ball -- all set against the backdrop of autumn's peak colors in the picturesque Berkshire Mountains of Kent, CT.
The Fall Family Weekend is filled with special events and activities that provide time together, as well as separate time for parents and children. Adults can enjoy sports, adventure, food, fun and entertainment while kids discover a special club all their own, the Club Getaway Kids Club.
During the weekend families can enjoy autumn in New England at its finest with the Fall Family Festival, featuring games, music, hot apple cider, candy apples and other popular fall traditions. Families can compete against one another in the Crazy Family Olympics. Activities include relay races, egg toss, tug o' war and three-legged races. Families can dress up in their favorite ghosts and goblins costumes to participate in the Halloween Costume Parade at the Halloween Costume Ball. In the evenings, guests staying at Club Getaway join together for the traditional lakeside bonfire to sing campfire songs, play games and enjoy S'mores.
Families will enjoy the ease of an all-inclusive, pre-paid Club Getaway vacation, which features lodging in a comfortable country cabin, all meals, wine with dinner, all sports and activities with professional instruction, use of sports equipment, and nightly entertainment.
Kids between the ages of four and 17 stay for almost half price at Club Getaway while children three years of age and under stay for free. Rates for the Fall Family Weekend are: $159 per child and $289 per adult. Rates quoted do not include the $24 family membership fee and 17.5 percent tax and service charges.
Keeping Kids & Teens Busy
When kids want to spend time with their peers, they can head to the Club Getaway Kids Club and Teen Club. The Clubs give kids a chance to make new friends and enjoy daily adventures while under the supervision of a knowledgeable and caring staff - not to mention the time it allows parents to relax and "play" with fellow adults.
Children registered in the Clubs are grouped according to age and interests. Kids can participate in a wide range of activities including softball, basketball, volleyball, tennis, archery, flying trapeze, mountain biking, gladiator joust, bungee run, arts & crafts, and much more.
Fun For the Little Ones
Club Getaway offers two hours of supervised activities for children two and three years of age. Toddlers under three stay free of charge. Club Getaway supplies cribs for those families that need one. Evening babysitting is also available for families to reserve in-advance for a nominal fee.
Activities for Adults
While the children are enrolled in their own Clubs, parents can bask in some much-deserved free time to experience all of Club Getaway's grown-up activities -- soaking up the fall mountain air, participating in yoga and massage classes, flying on a trapeze, hiking on mountain trails, mountain biking, or playing team sports like volleyball and softball.
Transportation from New York City
For added convenience and fun, a non-stop Getaway party bus is also available for those who want to get a head start on the weekend before they even get to the club. The bus departs from Manhattan each Friday during the Getaway season on the corner of 63rd St. and First Ave. at 5:30 p.m. and returns on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. The cost of a round trip ticket is $45 per person.
