Trump Concierges Reveal New York City's Top Teen Attractions

Today's 33 million teenagers command more than $160 billion in annual discretionary spending of both their own and their parents' money - spending power that tops the GNP of countries such as Finland, Portugal and Greece. Recent research shows that much of this spending is devoted to entertainment and social activity that enables teens to squeeze in as much fun as possible before reaching adulthood, and that many teens have been "trained" as shoppers since childhood, responsible for making or influencing large and small household purchase decisions.*

So where can families travel with such teenagers? Manhattan makes a great destination, especially when teens and parents can consult with the "go-to" team for NYC teenage activity planning: the concierge team at the Trump International Hotel & Tower. The Trump concierge team has scoured the city to develop a list of teen-tested suggestions that will please discerning 13-19 year olds. Top teen recommendations include:

Shopping:

- South Street Seaport, for a mix of more than 100 shops and restaurants plus a great view of tall ships and speed boats cruising beneath the Brooklyn Bridge along the financial district's waterfront

- St. Marks' Place, a stroll along Eighth Street introduces older teens to some of the East Village's hippest and cheapest shopping areas, and great people watching

- Times Square, the world's busiest intersection has something for everyone, including MTV studios, the city's largest music store and many street performers and vendors

Shows:

- Broadway, a must for visitors to NYC, with top teen shows such as Rent, Blue Man Group, Stomp, Lion King, Wicked and Hair Spray

- Caroline's Comedy Club, a state-of-the-art venue with hot headliners and bright new talents (18 and older can attend alone; 16-17 must be accompanied by a guardian)

- Dangerfield's, voted the top comedy club in the country and the longest running comedy club in NYC (16 and older can attend alone; 12-15 must be accompanied by a guardian)

- IMX, a fast-paced daily live music show featuring videos and live performances by artists such as Linkin Park, 50 Cent, Good Charlotte, Blink 182 and Outkast, for those 14 and older

- TRL (Total Request Live), teens 18 and older can join host Carson Daly and a host of fans for a taping of MTV's hot show at the MTV studios

Unique Sports & Excursions:

- Chelsea Pier Sports Complex, an enthusiast's delight, featuring batting cages, rock climbing walls, 52-stall golf driving range, indoor soccer fields, basketball courts, ice and in-line skating rinks, swimming, bowling and more

- Trapeze School New York, a once-in-a-lifetime thrill in Hudson River Park, as featured on Sex & The City and the Today show, with beginner through advanced classes in flying and static trapeze as well as hoops, juggling and jestering

- On Location Tours, a fun-filled tour of more than 40 famous Manhattan TV and movie locations, including sites from Friends, Seinfeld, Law & Order, Will & Grace, Spiderman, Hitch, Men in Black and Ghostbusters
