Eyeglass Donation Program Yields Discounts at Eleven Mountain Properties
Clear vision - one of life’s most basic yet precious gifts. But for millions of underprivileged men, women and children who suffer from poor vision and lack eye care, life’s gift is a blur. This summer, the Destination Hotels & Resorts Mountain Collection has pledged to help make a difference. Eleven properties will serve as Give the Gift of Sight donation sites accepting new or gently used eyeglasses for men, women and children. Guests that book a Site on Sight reservation and bring eyeglasses to donate upon check-in will receive a 5 percent discount for each pair donated from May 1 to October 31, 2007, with a maximum discount of 20 percent. Participating properties include upscale hotel and resort condominiums in Aspen, Vail, Snowmass Village, Telluride, Jackson Hole and Lake Tahoe.
Give the Gift of Sight, founded in 1988, partners with Lions Clubs, an international volunteer network of 1.3 million men and women in 200 countries, and Luxottica Group, the world’s leading optical company, to provide vision care to those who don’t have access or can’t afford it. Together they have helped more than three million children and adults in North America since 1988, and as of 1991 have helped more than two million recipients in 27 developing countries.

Sight on Site Program
The premise of the Site on Sight program is elegant in its simplicity and practicality. Thousands of guests head to the mountains each summer, and this program helps those masses turn a getaway into a vacation with a cause. With the Site on Sight program, guests will earn a five percent discount for each pair of eyeglasses donated upon check-in, with a maximum discount of 20 percent.
