Marriott International and Nickelodeon have joined forces this summer to offer a great family escape, the Nickelodeon Getaway, at select JW Marriott, Marriott and Renaissance Resorts in the United States and around the world. The new Getaway program for kids and parents will feature poolside shows with messy games (prepare to get slimed!), music and trivia; dive-in Nickelodeon movies; crafts; and character breakfasts with Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants.
The program begins at check-in. Families will be greeted by a Nickelodeon Getaway Host who will talk about the upcoming activities that will be offered during their stay. Parents and kids can experience character breakfasts* with Dora the Explorer or SpongeBob SquarePants during the day or entertainment by the pool later in the afternoon. Don't miss the signature Nickelodeon fun such as the interactive poolside game show where contestants can end up with a pie in the face, dance to music, play games and trivia, or get slimed.
The Nickelodeon Getaway program will begin on May 29, 2009 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, Arizona and the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. Next, the program will launch at the Marco Island Marriott Resort & Spa in Marco Island, Florida; the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, Florida; the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, California; the Kauai Marriott Beach Resort & Beach Club in Hawaii; the Renaissance Aruba Resort; the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa in Mexico; and the Sanya Marriott Resort & Spa in China.
The Nickelodeon Getaway will be offered on weekends year-round at some resorts and seasonally at other properties. Most activities are free of charge for guests staying at the resort. Program rates start at $139 per night and vary by resort and by dates.
Hotels will also be featuring a Nickelodeon package including two room nights, a character breakfast for two adults and two children and a sleepover kit with Nickelodeon-themed pillowcases and toiletries for the kids as a special gift. Packages start at $169 per night, but the purchase of the package is not necessary to experience the Nickelodeon Getaway program at participating resorts.
