Without your prior written permission, The Family Travel Network (“FTN” which is owned by The Beacon Group, Inc.) will not share, sell or otherwise provide outside companies with your “Personal Information”. The term Personal Information refers to any registration preferences that you have provided to FTN or explicit personal information including financial information that you have shared with us. Typically, we do not request personal information of any kind for most uses of our site. Our goal is to provide insightful and objective information for your use in making educated travel decisions.

We are committed to providing you with quality information. However, FTN e-mail newsletters, e-mail updates and other e-mail publications can be unsubscribed by you at any time. The ability to unsubscribe is imbedded in each e-mail or feel free to write to us and request to be removed from any e-mail list. Except where it is explicated disclosed, we do not earn a fee on our recommendations nor do we sponsor transactions.

We do accept advertising on our site. Clicking on ads and other portals can lead to other web sites that have unique advertising and personal information policies. These sites may earn a transaction fee or earn income on non-objective information. We do not warrant that these advertisements or companies have the same policies as FTN or protect Personal Information in the same manner as FTN. As is customary in the industry, FTN does provide aggregate information on users to potential and current advertisers. This information may consist of demographic, geographic and financial information on our average users. Site traffic information and click-through rates may also be included along with the attractiveness of various parts of the FTN site. Typically, advertisers seek to understand the people that use a particular site, what they find appealing about the site, how frequently they use the site and various ads and the average background of expected users.

FTN does not currently request credit card financial information from users. Should we request this information in the future, we would use secure encrypted technology standard in the industry. This does not guarantee that your information is 100% secure since that is not technically possible, but we will use best practices to protect your information. The use of advertiser’s links may involve credit card financial information that again is not 100% secure and we urge customers of these advertisers to review the privacy policies of the unique advertisers.

User bulletin boards, blogs, reader comments, and postings can be used by non-affiliated companies to collect personal information and we advise caution given that your personal information can be collected and used in this manner. This also applies to advertisers that have click-through ads on our site. In addition, parents should also caution their children about releasing personal information or participating in discussion posting on sites. The Internet attracts a number of people that seek to misrepresent themselves and to use information they acquire to the detriment of the customer or participant. Caution should be exercised by all, but children and teens should be very careful.

Exceptions

In rare cases, FTN can be required by court order or law enforcement professionals to provide confidential or Personal Information to law enforcement officials. FTN will comply with such a request as long as it is a legitimate and proper legal request as determined by FTN in its sole judgment.

Ad Servers and Third Parties may use “cookies” to collect user information for use in their marketing campaigns. This information can obtain the IP address of your computer or server, the geographic location, use patterns and other information. You may “opt out” of the cookies by proper deletions on your computer, registering with the individual advertiser server and electing the choice of opting out or the Network Advertising Initiative site to opt out of a number of third-party companies cookies. Ad servers can aggregate general use patterns and can provide this information to third party advertisers. Please research the various opt out options.

In the event that we change our privacy policies in the future, we will provide you with an update contained within this area of our web site.
