Bike Hiking

For something different, try a bike hike. This combination outing is a great way to enjoy nature and get great exercise. There are many different kinds of trails that you can explore ranging from 1 mile to 15 + miles. Children's ages and ability can help determine the right one for your family.

Here are some resources to help plan your bike hike:

GORP - U.S. National Parks and Preserves

Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical

Mountain Biking the Barton Creek Greenbelt

This can be a great experience for the entire family. Do not to push the kids too hard if they can't go as far as you'd like. Remember to wear helmets and comfortable boots or sneakers. Have fun and enjoy your outdoor adventure!!
