This 450 acre lush farm offers a total escape for the whole family. You will be greeted by a collection of buildings, including a turn of the century white farmhouse, a detached cottage building, a bunkhouse, and a 200 year old barn. The flower gardens, scattered lawn furniture, sweeping lawns, and outstanding vistas invite leisurely meandering or conversations. The kids will be thrilled with the inner workings of the active farm and are welcome to "help" with the daily chores. The morning cow milking is a particular favorite. In addition, chickens, cats, peacocks, and an ever changing variety of semi-domesticated visitors will entertain and educate.
Meals are a feast of home made treasures. You can even collect your own breakfast in the chicken house!!! Dinners are served in the dining room, sometimes with the kids in one room and parents in the other or grilled and served outdoors depending on the proprietors "executive choice"!
Guest rooms are a mixture of shared baths, private baths, and family suites. There is even a bunkhouse available to any children who want to share it.
Crystal Lake is close by and guests have access to their own private beach. It is stocked with canoes, paddle boast, picnic tables, a float dock, and even a swingset anchored in the shallow water make for super family fun.
Rates run from $104 to $120 per night. Kids can bunk with their parents or in the bunkhouse.
All in all the Rockhouse is unpretentious, comfortable, flexible, and easygoing, truly a relaxing family place.
