The museum's mission is to promote and increase the appreciation of science in children and adults through entertaining interaction with educational exhibits, programs and IMAX films. They have over 200 exhibits in eight areas including: animals, ecology, technology, space, health, sound and physical sciences.

Even the escalators are exhibits. The working machinery of the escalators is exposed so children of all ages can see just how escalators work.

The Florida Sunshine Grove is a wonderful exhibit where kids are encouraged to "pick" the oranges off the trees and place them in a tractor which can be driven on a mini-track to the "orange factory." The little workers must then crate the fruits and send them off on a conveyor belt to complete the manufacturing process.

General admission prices are $12.50 for adults; Children aged 3-12 $10.50; Seniors 65+ and students $11.50. This price includes exhibits and one IMAX ticket. Hours: Monday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sunday 12:00 Noon - 6:00 p.m.
