The brick, colonial hotel-inn, was built in 1949 after the original inn burned. It is located in Talbot County with more than one hundred historic buildings. There is a row of unique shops across the street selling American crafts and other goodies. The Waterfowl Festival in November highlights the auction of antique decoys and exhibits by the world's foremost bird carvers.
Nearby activities include: St. Michael's Maritime Museum, sailing, historical sites, log-canoe races, and a beautiful city park with a wooden jungle gym. The inn provides access to the local YMCA, which has a large swimming pool and numerous courts.
The menu offers Eastern shore specialties that include backfin crab imperial. Broiled fresh fish, crab cakes and soft-shell crabs. A "heart healthy menu" is also available. Children's portions and special requests like grilled cheese or peanut butter and jelly are never a problem.
