This is the heart of gold-rush country and no town captures the spirit like Columbia. Today the entire town is a state park. There are costumed pioneers walking around Main Street, with stagecoach teams and a barber playing his harmonica outside of his shop. Children will feel a true sense of that era in these streets than in any theme park.
Activities include: stroll the town with its restored buildings, working weavers, blacksmiths, harness and saddle shops and stagecoach rides. Productions at Fallon House Theater year round.
The dining room serves contemporary California cuisine emphasizing fresh, local ingredients. with beautiful linen, (not exactly what the gold-rush explorers ate). A children's menu is available as well as half orders of many choices.
