Cheeca Lodge

Want the feel of the islands within the continental U.S.? Then, check out the Florida Keys! You'll find live coral reefs, turquoise blue seas, lush tropical vegetation, balmy breezes, and warm temperatures with lots of sun. Midway down the Keys on Islamorada, you'll find a super family-friendly destination in Cheeca Lodge.

The resort offers a par-nine executive golf course, six tennis courts, 3 pools, lots of fishing excursions, small boat rentals, and "Camp Cheeca" for children 6-12. This award-winning program is geared to helping children have fun while learning about the ecology of the Florida Keys. Camp Cheeca is open Tuesday through Sunday during Thanksgiving, mid-December and Spring Break holidays, Monday through Saturday during the summer and weekends during the school season. A full-day session is $26.00 per child; a half-day session is $15.00. Sunday sessions are $15.00. Box lunches are available for $5.75. Activities include: "catch and release" fishing, marine life identification, water games and activities, field trips, and arts and crafts.

For more information, call (800) 327-2888 or visit them on the web www.cheeca.com While you're down there, don't miss snorkeling at John Pennekamp State Park (glass-bottom boat rides are also available), the Theater of the Sea, and the Dolphin Research Center.
