Kona Village Resort

If you're seeking a true island feel on your next vacation to Hawaii, you may be seeking the Kona Village Resort on the island of Hawaii. This village of thatched roof bungalows, or hales, is more of a fantasy resort where you can escape from the high-rises and stresses of today's world. Don't expect things like air-conditioning (although families tell us the trades keep things very comfortable!), televisions, or phones in your room. They won't be there. This is an all- inclusive up-scale property seeks to soothe your soul and take you back to a simpler time. You can relax -- or you can be active -- it's up to you.

The resort features lighted tennis courts, two swimming pools (one for kids), and an Activities Hut for watersports. You'll find sailboats, kayaks, boogie boards, canoes and snorkeling gear. In addition, there's a full kids program during the school holidays. There are daily arts and crafts classes, walks to explore the property's lush gardens, and field trips through a petrograph site. Therapeutic massages are also offered. If you feel the need to be major-league active, ask the concierge to arrange off-site fishing trips, golf outings, or helicopter tours. Only the massages, off-site trips and cocktails cost extra at Kona Village. All sports and meals -- including a weekly luau and steak cookout -- are included in your fee.
