This is the perfect opportunity to introduce your family to colonial living. The inn was built in 1685 and had additions in 1720 and 1790. There is a trapdoor where the Underground Railroad hid slaves in 1830. The staff even wears colonial dress of the era.

Activities include: hiking and cross-country skiing on 27 acres of property. Nearby: beaches, Mystic Seaport and Mystic Marinelife Aquarium.

The aroma from the wood burning hearths fills the dining room. The wood gives the food a special taste. You can even watch your lunch being prepared! There is a choice of entree and all of the desserts are colonial, such as Indian pudding.
