The Grand Wailea is one of our family's favorite hotels. Even though we last visited the property six years ago, the resort still remains firmly etched in my daughters' minds. My husband and I remember the beautiful beach, the opulent surroundings, luxurious accommodations, and wide array of recreational facilities. My kids remember the waterpark in amazing detail. They can still recall the pools, the water slides and rapids, the rope swing, and of course -- the one of a kind water elevator. A visit to the Grand Wailea is guaranteed to make memories, as my family can attest.
For kids ages 5-12, the Grand Wailea Resort offers Camp Grande, consisting of a 20,000 square-foot "Kids Resort," which houses a variety of family activities and an extensive facility for free play time. Structured activities include sand sculpting contests, guided tidepooling and nature walks, Hawaiian games, relay races, scavenger hunts and much more. Workshops in puka necklace making, hula lessons, and lei making are also available for the entire family.
The resort's award-winning Spa Grande is consistently voted one of the Top Ten Spas in the United States by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure magazines. The 50,000 square foot spa offers a wide variety of spa programs, packages and treatments designed to pamper its guests. The Grand Wailea Resort is well-known for its innovative programs and activities for kids and teens, so it is no surprise that its Spa Grande offers teen treatments as well.
Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea offers the following year-round services for teens:
Teen Tropical Wave Massage: As part of this 50-minute treatment, young adults choose from a variety of tropical lotions for a refreshing massage. Available for ages 15 and under, or at a slightly higher charge for ages 16 and older. Guests must be at least 16 years of age to use the Terme Wailea Hydrotherapy.
Opio (Teen) Facial: It's never too soon to begin prevention, and Spa Grande helps teens achieve this by offering a customized 50 minute facial and instruction on basic skin care. This treatment is available for ages 15 and under, or at a slightly higher charge for ages 16 and older. Guests must be at least 16 years of age to use the Terme Wailea Hydrotherapy.
All treatments and services at Spa Grande are available to guests ages 16 and over. Guests under the age of 16 may receive treatments (excluding Terme Wailea Hydrotherapy) if accompanied by a parent or guardian and with a signed waiver. Be aware that minors may also be asked to show proof of age.
The Spa Grande at Grand Wailea Resort also houses a full-service hair and nail salon, The Grand Design Salon. In addition to treatments, the Spa Grande offers teens specialty hair braiding and make-up application lessons. Select salon services are also offered by the Activity Pool-corn row braids, hair wraps, henna tattoos, manicures and pedicures.
Teens are also invited to participate in seasonal programs including Spa Grande's "Co-ed Teen Spa Night", "Tsunami Teen Dance," and Camp Grande's movie theater at the "X-box® Teen Challenge." Camp Grande's "Counselor in Training" program allows campers ages 13 through 17 to assist instructors and lead activities, competitions and games year round.
