Each park is transformed into a haunted Halloween party with rides and attractions as a background. Fright Fest began as a small weekend fall event in the early 1980's. Since then, it has expanded into a month-long series of Halloween-oriented activities, shows and events. During the month of October, all Six Flags amusement parks are decorated for Halloween, and costumed characters roam the streets.
