Be Terrified at a Theme Park

Fall is one of the best times to head to a theme park. The lines aren't long, so you can usually enjoy twice as many of the rides and attractions in half the time it would take on a hot summer day. Best of all, the month of October ushers in a whole host of Halloween-related activities.

To find out what's going on at your local theme park, look here to access information on theme parks and amusement parks by state: Theme parks- U.S. theme parks and amusement parks by state. Florida's theme parks put on some of the best Halloween shows during late September and October. For more information on what's happening in the Sunshine State this year, see this article: Halloween Horror Nights Howl-O-Scream.

October is the spookiest month of the year at Six Flags theme parks worldwide http://www.sixflags.com/, when the Fright Fest extravaganza takes place. Each park is transformed into a haunted Halloween party with rides and attractions as a background. Fright Fest began as a small weekend fall event in the early 1980's. Since then, it has expanded into a month-long series of Halloween-oriented activities, shows and events. During the month of October, all Six Flags amusement parks are decorated for Halloween, and costumed characters roam the streets.

So, head to a theme park this year ... and have a howlin' good time!
