Resort Overview: Almond Beach Village is located on the Gold Coast of Barbados in the parish of St. Peter. It is located approximately 11 miles from Bridgetown, the Barbados' capital, and 19 miles from the Grantley Adams International Airport. Their all-inclusive packages include: 3 meals per day; golf; watersports; entertainment; beverages; gratuities; fitness center; disco; and airport transfers. The resort features their Family Entertainment Center. This 32 acre complex is located on the southern part of the island and there are family guest rooms, 2 pools, playground, bandstand for live entertainment, restaurant with a kid-friendly menu and a new pizzeria. The Kid's Club Nursery is for guests ages 0-2 1/2 and the Mini-Club is for ages 2 1/2 to 4 1/2. The child to care giver ratio is 3:1. You'll need to bring your stroller and other baby supplies from home.
Accommodations: Almond Beach Village features 330 guest rooms feature color, satellite television, Private balcony or patio, hair dryer, In-room safe, direct dial telephone, private bath and shower, coffee maker and radio. Standard Rooms - have views of tropical gardens and a private balcony. Deluxe Rooms - feature a private balcony which overlooks the lush gardens and pool area or the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Superior Deluxe Rooms- offer a large bedroom with living area incorporated into one area. They Feature a private patio overlooking the lush gardens and pool area or the ocean. One-Bedroom Suites-consist of a spacious bedroom with an adjoining living area and private balcony. Presidential Suite-This very large suite that features two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living and dining areas. It has a private balcony that gives magnificent views of the lush garden and pool areas as well as the Caribbean Sea. Port-a-cribs are available for the little ones. Great savings are available with Almond's Family Plan at Village First Child (under 16) FREE when traveling with one or more adult(s) except for standard rooms. All other children (under 16) are US $50 per child per night except for standard and deluxe rooms.
Restaurants: Almond Beach Village has a pizzeria La Trattoria and an ice-cream parlor in addition to their 4 restaurants with high chairs available at all family-oriented dining areas. Horizons Restaurant features continental cuisine and a menu that changes daily. Enid's Restaurant is a beautiful Bajan-styled restaurant that features wonderful local cuisine. La Smaritta Restaurant is a gourmet restaurant featuring Northern Italian dishes. Reef Restaurant this restaurant offers a Caribbean setting with an open air atmosphere, so guests may watch the sunset and the stars while dining. The Reef's new deck is located directly on the beach. The menu highlights fresh fish and seafood.
Children's Programs: The Kids' Club Nursery is for ages 0-2 1/2 and the Mini-Club is for ages 2 1/2 to 4 1/2. The child to care giver ratio is 3:1. It's open from 9am-5pm. They are closed from 12:30-1:30 for lunch. Nap/quiet time is from 1:30-2:30. There are lots of toys and time for free play. Older kids can enjoy more structured activities. There is a 10 minute cry policy. The Kid's Club staff will come and get you if your child is unhappy for a maximum of 10 minutes. Parents alert the club of their planned activities. An adequate supply of diapers and formula should accompany each infant. After 5 p.m. children under 5 require a baby-sitter. Private baby-sitting is available for a fee of BDS$15.00 (US$7.50) per hour per family-maximum of 3 children. "Almond Beach Village pledges to help parents relax by entertaining their children while parents are free to enjoy Almond, Barbados and each other," according to their managing director. For children 5-7 and 8-12, the Kid's Club is opened everyday from 9am to 10pm. The child to care giver ratio is 12:1. Activities include: lessons in Bajan culture, people & environment, water sports, arts and crafts, treasure hunts, nature walks, movies, Super Nintendo and more.
Golf: Almond Beach Village has a 9-hole, par 3 pitch & put golf course. Greens fees, club rental and pull-carts are included in the all-inclusive package. Guests are asked to bring their own Cayman golf balls and golf tees or purchase them in their golf shop.
Tennis: Almond Beach Village has 5 lighted courts available for guests.
Swimming: There are 10 freshwater swimming pools at Almond Beach Village. They also have 2 Jacuzzis and has a 1 mile beach. Swimming is at your own risk, no lifeguards are on duty.
Other Activities and Amenities: Other activities include: 2 air-conditioned squash courts; nightly entertainment; late-night disco; fitness center; picnic; afternoon tea; Water Sports Center with Water-skiing, Kayaking, Catamaran sailing, Reef fishing, Wind surfing, Banana Boating, Sunfish sailing, Snorkeling and Aqua bikes. There is a nurse and doctor on call 24 hours per day.
