Resort Overview: Sandpiper is the only Club Med in the United States to feature Baby Club Med for infants 4 through 23 months. Club Med Sandpiper is located on the Saint Lucie River. It's location is close to the well known Florida attractions. They feature a Discover Florida excursion package to Universal Studios, Kennedy Space Center, Miami and Miami Beach, Seaworld and Walt Disney World. The family village has a rating as 3-star (on a scale of 1-5), which means comfortable. Sandpiper features ATP Tour Advanced Tennis; Golf Academy; children's program for kids ages 4 months-12 years; Circus Workshops; 4 swimming pools; sailing lessons on the river; and Club Med evening Entertainment. Sandpiper has all of the necessary equipment to borrow at the village. Strollers, baby monitors, potties, baby- bathtubs and bassinets to mention a few are available.

Accommodations: Sandpiper features 338 air-conditioned, double-occupancy rooms (some connecting) in three-story lodges surrounded by fountains and lush gardens. All are furnished with a king bed or two full-size beds, a private terrace, walk-in closet and dressing area, television, phone, refrigerator, personal safes and a private bathroom with bathtub and hair dryer. Parents of little ones will find the full sized cribs and built-in changing table with cubbies below, very helpful. River view rooms are available for an extra charge. Restaurants: Club Med Sandpiper's main restaurant features varied themed buffets, including the staff wearing costumes. There is free flowing red and white wine served with lunch and dinner. High chairs and kid's favorites are always available. The Riverside Restaurant is for only for adults. It is open for dinner, with seatings are at 7, 7:30, 8 and 8:30. Reservations are required at this sit-down restaurant. The restaurant is closed on Saturday. The 24-hour convenience room is stocked with mineral water, milk, sterilizers, cookies, fruit, food-processors, etc. The Baby Chef prepares delicious baby food from natural ingredients just for the youngest guests.

Children's Programs: Sandpiper's Baby Club Med is open six days a week (closed Saturday) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The ratio is 4 children to 1 care-taker. Daily activities include: learning games, educational activities, walks around the village, nap time, outdoor games, snacks and much more. Brand new at the Baby Club Med are fun and giggles with the clowns Guignol, Clubber and Medy. The G.O.'s are well-trained and truly love kids. They give parents a tour of the facility before they drop off their children. A health information form is also filled out for each child. Parents also have to tell the G.O.'s where they will be in the Village in case of emergency. Parents are given a full report of what their child did while at the Club. The rate is $140 per child, per week and must be reserved at the time of booking. Petit Club Med is for children ages 2-4 and is opened six days a week from 9am to 9pm. The ratio is 5 children to 1 care-taker. Activities include: painting, drawing, clay sculpting and the rest of the Village's ammenities. Mini Club Med is for guests 4-12 and is opened six days a week from 9am to 9pm. There is a maximum of 10 kids to 1 G.O. Activities are according to age including: roller skating, windsurfing, tennis, circus workshops and more. Starting at age 8, kids are free to choose their activities and the G.O.'s are there to supervise and guide them as needed. Prices depend on the age of the children.

Golf: Club Med Sandpiper is well known for its golfing programs. It features a driving range, practice range, a chipping green, 2 putting greens, 9-hole pitch & putt, and a training bunker. At an extra cost, outside of the club: -36 Holes of Golf - Two 18-hole championship courses designed by Mark Mahanna, the "Sinners" (6,896 yards, Par 72) and the "Saints" (6,557 yards, Par 72), with 2 driving ranges; a free 9-hole Par 3; two putting greens; chipping green; practice sand trap. Individual rounds and private lessons are available. Other programs include Golf Galore Weekly Package (7 days) and the Golf Academy program, which includes 2 1/2 hours of instruction (daily, 5 days), plus green fees, cart, balls, video analysis, competitions.

Tennis: Club Med Sandpiper has 19 Plexipave courts and 9 lighted courts available for guests. It is an ATP Tour Advanced Tennis Camp.

Swimming: Club Med Sandpiper features 4 pools for its guests. G.O.'s are poolside as lifeguards. The resort sits on the banks of the one-mile wide St. Lucie River, and has a small white sand beach on a kind of a lagoon, plus the stretch of waterfront. In addition, Club Med has a shuttle bus to its beach on the Atlantic Ocean, 15 minutes away.

Other Activities and Amenities: Other activities include: Aerobics~Step~Stretch. Fitness Center. Circus Workshops: flying trapeze, trampoline and juggling. Waterskiing, Sailing, Volleyball ~ Basketball. Softball. Soccer. Taiig Khris in-line skating school, Skateboard. BMX half pipe. Weights room. Evening entertainment. Dancing floor. Table tennis. Billiards (extra cost). Bocce ball. Taped classical music in the gazebo. Karaoke. There is a Nurse in the Village and a doctor is on call.
