Keystone Resort - The Nature of the Rockies

Resort Overview: Keystone is named the "Nature of the Rockies". Located in a picturesque valley 90 miles west of Denver, Colorado. This year-round resort features several activities for the whole family. During the warmer months enjoy shopping within the village, Mountain biking on more than 100 miles of trails throughout the Snake River Valley; Hiking, Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddleboating on Keystone Lake; In-line skate along the Snake River path, which takes skaters from one end of the resort to the other and take a scenic gondola ride to the summits of Keystone Mountain and North Peak. The Children's Center takes care of kids as young as 2 months through Teens. The Children's Center facilities are staffed with loving, trained personnel, and cribs, toys, and art supplies are provided. Other daily family activities and events include: Sunday night welcome reception; Torchlight parade; Children's craft night; Fireside storytelling and marshmallow roasting; Kid's glowbug skate night; Kid's nature night; Stargazing and more.

Accommodations: Keytone features six neighborhoods (River Run, Keystone Village, Forest, Mountain House, Ski Tip, Mountain) offering guests over 1,500 available properties. There are many styles of accommodations including hotels, condominiums, townhouses, bed & breakfasts, efficiencies, and private homes. The following is a brief description of the type of properties within each neighborhood: River Run - Condominiums (studio to 4-bedroom); Keystone Village - Hotel, Condominiums (studio to 4-bedroom); Forest - Condominiums (studio to 4-bedroom), Townhouses (1-bedroom to 4-bedroom), Private Homes $ ; Mountain House - Condominiums (studio to 4-bedroom); Ski Tip - Bed & Breakfast, Townhouses (2-bedroom to 4-bedroom); Condominiums (2-bedroom to 4-bedroom); Mountain View - Hotel, Condominiums (2-bedroom to 4-bedroom), Efficiencies. Prices also range from very expensive to very economical. Plus, for an added bonus - Kids 12 and under always stay Free. Restaurants: Alpenglow Stube sits atop North Peak at 11,444 feet. They serve skier's a gourmet lunch buffet and dinner includes a six-course meal featuring Colorado and contemporary American cuisine. Der Fondue Chessel is also atop North Peak and features oversized hearth, raclette grills and traditional fondue. Keystone Ranch, ranked AAA by Zagat offers six-course dinners with a Western flair. Ski Tip Lodge offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in a rustic-country setting. The Garden Room overlooks Keystone Lake and features tableside preparations of filet mignon. Tthere are also more casual, family-style dining with pizza places, burger joints, a sports bar, and even a microbrewery. Most of the eateries at Keystone offer high chairs for your convenience. You'll find these family eateries throughout each neighborhood at Keystone.

Children's Programs: The child care facility is open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and parents must provide diapers, change of clothes, bottles and special baby formula. Half-day child care, $54 (includes snacks). Full-day child care, $64 (includes lunch). The ratio of childcare provider to child is: 1:3. Snowplay Program is available for kids 3 and older. Also included is outdoor fun such as sledding, building snowmen and snow forts, gondola rides, and visits to the horse stables, along with indoor activities including arts and crafts and games. Parents must provide appropriate outdoor clothing, snowboots, change of clothes, and goggles or sunglasses. Half-day (8 a.m.-1 p.m. or noon-5 p.m.), $54. Full-day (8 a.m.-5 p.m.), $64. Full-day child care is $64 including lunch and half-day (either 8-1 or 1-5) is $54 including snacks. The Snowplay Program is for kids ages 3 and older. 3-Year-Old Learn to Ski - Morning ski and afternoon arts, crafts, and games. $76 per child for a full day, includes lunch $66 per child for a half day, includes lunch. Reservations are recommended. During the warmer months, Kamp Keystone offers kids three and up experience the mountains with nature hikes, gold panning, cookouts, swimming, paddleboating, pony rides, gondola rides an other memorable adventures. Golf: Keystone Ranch Golf Course is an 18-hole, Robert Trent Jones Jr.- designed course. It was recently named one of the top 50 "Must Play" golf courses by LINKS magazine. Golf: The Keystone Ranch Golf Course has been rated as one of the top 50 "Must-Play" golf courses in the world by LINKS Magazine. Quietly tucked into one of Colorado's most picturesque mountain valleys and surrounded by majestic peaks, holes play through the pines, sage meadows and across a nine-acre lake. A special feature is our "linksland" design, patterned after traditional Scottish courses. Keystone Ranch has a practice range, practice putting green and sand bunker, on-course beverage cart, club cleaning and storage, locker rooms, fully-equiped Pro Shop, professional golf instruction. The Alpine Institute at Keystone provides a Weekly Golf Clinic, PGA Private Instruction and other golf activities. The River Course an 18-hile par-71 course at Keystone is scheduled for opening in June 2000. The golf course is open seven days a week from late May to early October- weather permitting. Tennis: The Keystone Tennis Center has 12 outdoor and two indoor courts. Hourly court rates are $22. Rackets and shoes may be rented at the Pro Shop and a variety of lessons and clinics are available.

Swimming: The Keystone Lodge has a Fitness Center located on the first floor. Open year-round 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. The Center features an exercise room, weight room with circuit weight machines, free weights and cardiovascular machines, heated guarded outdoor swimming pool, two whirlpools, steam room, tanning beds, sauna. One-day adult Fitness Center pass, 13 years and older, $5; 10-day pass, $25.

Other Activities and Amenities: Other activities at Keystone include: skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, tubing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, nordic skiing, guided mountain tours, sleigh rides, cooking classes, Camp Culinaire, fitness center, massage and spa and shopping. Warm weather activities include Keystone Music Festival, boating on Keystone Lake, fishing, and the Alpine Institute.
