Resort Overview: The Peaks Resort offers guests magical settings in a spectacular natural environment, exceptional levels of service, a captivating sense of adventure and recreational amenities in dramatic surroundings. The resort is situated at a breathtaking elevation of 9,500 feet surrounded by the San Juan Mountain Range. It is just 10 minute drive from the historic town of Telluride. There are windows all around the resort to allow views of the mountains. The Golden Door Spa has 44 treatment rooms for an array of facial and body treatments and wide variety of massage techniques. While parents take advantage of the Spa, their children can have just as much fun at the KidSpa for guests 6 weeks and up.
Accommodations: The Peaks features 174 guest rooms, including 28 suites. There are also one-to-four bedroom condominiums and penthouses, featuring panoramic views. All luxury accommodations have fully stocked mini bars, down comforters, cable television, VCR, CD players, video games, and terry robes in the bathrooms. More than 50% of the rooms and suites have terraces. Rooms feature a king or two full sized beds and overlook Telluride Mountain Village. Suites include a living room with a pullout sleeper sofa, two full bathrooms and terrace. Penthouses are ideal for families and are individually furnished, located on the upper floors of the Wyndham Peaks.
Restaurants: Legends serves breakfast and lunch daily in an Alpine setting. Their outdoor sun deck offers breathtaking western views. They serve flavors of the world and incorporates many Colorado ingredients. In the warm months, they serve the outdoor pool area with lighter fare, fresh grilled entrees and specialty drinks. Sundance serves dinner only in a casually elegant Southwestern setting with a built in wooden bar. Diners can enjoy incredible views of the Wilson Peak. The cuisine is innovative including game, local lamb, seafood and pastas. Also available at both restaurants and through Room Service is the Golden Door spa cuisine, offering lowfat dishes prepared without butter, oil or cream.
Children's Programs: The KidSpa program is for children of all ages daily from 9am until 6pm. Half day sessions are from 8:30 to 1 pm or 1pm until 6. The staff is bonded and are certified in CPR and First Aid. There is ratio of 1 adult:5 children, so reservations are highly recommended. The Pioneers Package is for infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks through 2 ½. Rates are $50 for a full day, $35 for a half day and $10 per hour. The Explorer Program is for guests ages 2 ½ through 5. Rates are $40 for a full day, $30 for a half day and $8 per hour. All activities take full advantage of the natural playground outdoors and the resort's indoor facilities. Activities include story time, songs, art and much more. A babysitting/nanny service is also offered.
Golf: The Telluride Ski and Golf Company's 18 hole championship course is adjacent to the resort. It provides a challenging course against the mountain backdrop. The course stretches 6,739 yards with a 71 par and a slope of 130. Beautiful chipping and putting greens, as well as a driving range, are provided for practice.
Tennis: Wyndham Peaks Resort and Golden Door Spa features five outdoor, hard surface tennis courts. Both group and private instruction are offered.
Swimming: Guests can enjoy an indoor lap pool that connected by a water slide to the lower indoor/outdoor pool.
Other Activities and Amenities: Other activities include: skiing, hiking, biking, jeep tours, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, horseback riding and rock climbing.
