If you've ever wanted to learn how ice cream is made, you've come to the right place. This firm is the largest producer of premium ice cream in the United States, and also the leading exporter of premium ice cream to Japan. Plan on staying for 1-2 hours to take in the short video, the factory tour, and some ice cream tasting.
After watching a short video on the ice cream making process, you'll take a tour through the production floor. Here you'll see the assembly lines, and be able to watch workers mixing the necessary ingredients. Plan to freeze as you make your way through the huge warehouse and loading dock area, where temperatures dip to well below freezing.
At the end of the tour, you'll receive free samples of ice cream and frozen yogurt in your favorite flavors, along with coupons and souvenirs.
Open: Tours Monday through Friday, 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., and Tuesday and Thursday at 2 p.m. The company is closed on holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year's.
Age Limits: Children must be at least 6 years old.
