This neat amusement park was once called "Hollywood in the Desert". It was built in 1939 as one of the largest Old West-type movie sets, and filming still takes place here today. You'll enjoy stagecoach and wagon rides; old fashioned carousel; the C.P. Huntington narrow-guage train ride, and the underground Iron Door Mine ride. For small children, the park offers the Iron Pony hand-cars, Young Riders Pony Express Pony Rides, and Rio Bravo Canoe ride. Children can also enjoy panning for gold, playing Old West carnival games and feeding the animals on the Wild & Wooley Petting Zoo. Parking is free. Special areas for recreational vehicles provided. leashed pets welcome. Families may carry in picnic baskets (excluding alcoholic beverages) and enjoy their meal at any Old Tucson Studios shaded picnic areas.
What's New: This season Old Tucson Studios has beefed-up its entertainment offerings with the introduction of six new attractions including three live shows, trail rides and a western-history educational program focusing on Arizona's pioneers including Native Americans. Old Tucson Studios has also joined with Budweiser for an all-new entertainment series with dance-parties and concerts featuring top-name national acts. The concert season includes Eddie Money on July 31 and Kenny Chesney on August 24.
Rates: Admission prices are: $14.95 adult; $9.45 children 4 to 11; children 3 and under are free. Group rates available for groups of 20 or more people.
Park Hours: The park is open year-round from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
