It's pretty hard to get bored at Rocking Horse Ranch .... there's always something happening almost every minute of the day. This is not a resort for those seeking luxurious accommodations, but the rooms are spacious and located close to all activities. During the winter months, try to get one in the main lodge if you can. The Turk family runs this resort specifically for families and they've thought of most everything, even a service where staff members check on sleeping children while the parents dance or are entertained downstairs. Rocking Horse has an extensive Children's Program for ages 4-12. Activities include, supervised sports, hikes, games, swimming, crafts and more. They also can accomodate babies and toddlers at their supervised children's nursery. Rocking Horse can also accommodate your special needs child.
Kids will love playing on Fort Tiny giant kids' playground or petting the farm animals at the critter pen petting zoo. For the older kids, there's pizza parties and ice-cream parties and a game room. Parents can go off riding, play tennis, waterski on the lake, go hiking, or play golf nearby.
In the winter, horseback riding, skiing, sleigh rides, an indoor pool, sleigh rides, and sledding are available.
All rooms are carpeted, private bath, individual temperature control, TV, direct dial telephone, daily maid service. Accomodations range from standard rooms to ranchettes with a King size bed, sofa bed, mini-fridge and coffee maker. Sleeps up to 6 people.
Rocking Horse Ranch offers a variety of packages and some excellent discounts for children. Children under 4 always stay free. The ranch is open all year, and is located about 75 miles north of New York City.
