Skyline Ranch located in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, just eight miles from the western town of Telluride, sits among the aspens and pine at an elevation of 9,600 feet looking out at a showcase of 14,000-foot peaks. The area offers the ideal place for fun-loving families looking to experience togetherness and outdoor adventures.
Skyline Guest Ranch offers several summer packages that are perfect for active families. Typical summer activities include horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, a 14,000 foot peak climb, mountain biking, four-wheel drive trips, a visit to the Indian Ruins at Mesa Verde National Park, cook outs and an fully outfitted overnight. Optional trips to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Moab and Arches National Park, and a mine tour are also available. Children can participate in all activities and may participate in their riding program once they reach six years of age.
Skyline Guest Ranch also features a special Horsemanship and Riding Program which focuses on horse psychology, natural horsemanship and the thrill of developing harmony with horses. Guests will experience a unique horse program unlike any other, which will inspire them to form a different type of relationship with their horses. Then, after a full day of instruction in natural horsemanship, spend full or half days riding in the spectacular and diverse country of the San Juan Mountains. Skyline has access to wide open meadow country as well as high mountain ridges, beautiful mountain lakes and waterfalls. Children must be at least 6 years old to participate in the riding program.
Skyline Guest Ranch chefs are Culinary School graduates and pride themselves in creating fresh, homemade fare for all to enjoy. Summer meals are served family style and each evening chefs prepare a variety of entrees such as Colorado beef, fresh fish, pasta and vegetarian dishes. A fine selection of beer and wine is also available.
Skyline's Summer Packages include accommodations, three meals a day, maid service, horseback riding and instruction, guided hiking, mountain biking, and 4x4 trips to nearby ghost towns and the use of all the ranch amenities and facilities.
