Conditions in Montana are excellent for preserving and recovering fossils, and this world-class museum showcases them beautifully. There are a number of wonderful exhibits on Maiasaura, discovered by Montana dinosaur expert Dr. John Horner, with the help of Rock Shop owner Marian Brandvold. At the University's Paleo Field School, people can take short or long paleo field courses with the experts. Dr. Horner's fabulous Tyrannosaurus rex, is now complete with its own room!

If you're in the area, you might also wish to stop in at The Rock Shop in Bynum, Montana, to see their latest discoveries and purchase some souvenirs. Ms. Brandvold discovered the first Maiasaura fossils in the dry, sandy hills around The Rock Shop. You'll see a number of these fossils there, and who knows ... maybe you'll make some lucky finds as well! The phone number for The Rock Shop is (406) 469-2314.
