Resort Overview: Beaver Creek is smaller and less crowded than its Vail counterpart, and offers excellent intermediate skiing. The resort has developed numerous programs especially for children and families, including SKE-COLOGY, an educational program that teaches kids about the environment at the same time they're learning to ski. In addition to adventure-oriented ski school programs for children 3-13, Beaver Creek offers childcare for non-skiers ages 2 months to 5 years and teen programs complete with a special Teen Activity Line. Younger children will enjoy skiing with the Buckaroo Bonanza Bunch, a group of zany Western characters who ski the slopes and host story hours filled with tales of the old West. Kids nights out with a decidedly Western theme are also offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for children 5-12. Families will enjoy the variety of terrain and trails the two mountains have to offer. Off-mountain activities include ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing and sleigh rides. Vail/Beaver Creek has developed a special package of information designed specifically to help parents plan family vacations. It contains information on everything from babysitting services to special events for families, plus reading materials just for kids. To receive this package, call 800-4SKIKID
What's New This Year: Beaver Creek’s 20th Anniversary year will be filled with special events and packages to celebrate this jewel of the ski industry. Limited edition 20th Anniversary collector’s pins and kids’ buttons will be given away on select days throughout the season.
