Resort Overview: This resort averages over 500 inches of natural snowfall each year with exceptionally dry powder. Its nature-filled location on the west side of the Tetons offers many activities for families. Best of all, however, slopeside lodging is relatively inexpensive and kids 14 and under stay and ski free on 3, 5 & 7 day lift and lodging packages all winter long (one child per paying adult). This is a great destination for families who don't want to blow their entire life savings on a single ski trip. While you're there, check out the day trips to Yellowstone Park, dog sledding, horse-drawn sleigh ride dinners, snowshoe tours in the National Forest (great for seeing winter wildlife), snowmobiling and evening activity programs for families and kids. The horse-drawn sleigh rides through the National Elk Refuge are awesome!

What's New: Grand Targhee is pleased to announce the following additions for the 2000/01 Winter Season: 1. Upgrade of the access road. If you're driving to the resort this winter, you're in for a very pleasant surprise. The last six miles of your trip will be cruising on our brand new access road (those gnarly switchbacks have been eliminated and/or modified with new smooth and wider surfaces). Road construction on this 4.75 million dollar project is scheduled for completion by November 1, just in time for ski season. Money for the road came from the Federal Forest Highway Program with our local Forest Service Office acting as coordinator.
2. Remodeled Trap Bar.
3. A boardwalk style conveyor lift built by Magic Carpet Conveyor Lifts, Inc. to replace the Mightly Mite Handle Tow in the beginner area.
4. Two new snowcats for the Snowcat Adventure Tours on Peaked Mountain.
5. Two new winch cats.
6. Increased parking areas.
