Resort Overview: Sunday River offers wide trails (and lots of them!), good snow and short lift lines. Combine these with a wide range of kids programs and you've got a good family skiing destination. Sunday River's state-licensed day care facilities accommodate children from six weeks to six years. For a positive first experience on skis, the resort offers Tiny Turns for 3 year olds and SKIwee for kids 4-6. Mogul Meisters is designed for 7-12 year olds who want to master moguls or perfect their snowboarding. Great package rates for families are available on select weekends.
What's New This Year: SnoMax Sleds are new for the 2000/2001 season! Over 30 sleds will be available for rental. A separate park will be created at the site of the old White Cap Halfpipe. The park will be serviced by its own surface lift and will be open day and night.
Get ready for the next big thing on snow... coming to Sunday River this winter!
New 500' Halfpipe - The all-new in-ground competition halfpipe at Barker Basin. Located between the Monday Mourning and Cascades trails just above the Barker Base Lodge, The Halfpipe will be 500 feet in length, 50 feet wide and feature 12 foot walls.
The Halfpipe will require much less snow than last year's halfpipe, allowing it to open much earlier in the season. A drainage system has also been designed to hold snow longer, meaning more springtime riding.
The halfpipe will host several competitions this season, such as the Bud Light Boarderfest on March 3-4 and the X-Nix U.S. Snowboard Championships held on March 19-25.
Lift Ticket Prices: $51 Adult; $33 Junior and Senior; *Kids 5 years old and under ski free.
