Resort Overview: Telluride is a great vacation destination combining a convenient ski village with a historic mountain town. Most say the town is named for the ore of the nonmetallic element tellurium that is found in combination with gold and silver. Others say it is named after a castaway call, "To Hell You Ride," from loved ones who knew of the town's boisterousness.

The Mountain Village Activity Center serves as a centerpiece of convenience providing a wide range of services and acting as a hub for planning all your family activities. Here, you can purchase lift tickets, rent equipment and register for lessons. The center is easily accessed by the gondola and is within walking distance of restaurants and shops in both the town of Telluride and the Mountain Village, eliminating the need for a car and making your vacation hassle-free.

What's New This Year: This summer, Telluride is spending $3.1 million to increase snowmaking on the Telluride Mountain. The summer work includes the construction of snowmaking that will give the mountain top-to-bottom coverage on at least one run in the Lift 1,4,5,6,7,9 pods. This significant increase in snowmaking capabilities will enable the resort to open more terrain earlier in the season and provide a better base throughout the season.
